Logs of the Monero Developers Meeting on April 2nd regarding the upcoming v15 Monero network upgrade are available to read. The next Monero Developers Meeting regarding the v15 network upgrade is scheduled for Saturday the 16th of April 2022 at 17:00 UTC in #monero-dev on IRC, Libera and Matrix.
Haveno, a peer to peer exchange based on Monero's multisignature, recently received funding to develop its user interface. Haveno aims to be a non-custodial, decentralized exchange for crypto and fiat currencies built on Tor and Monero. Learn more about Haveno here.
xmrig v6.17.0 has been released. Please note that XMRig supports GhostRider algorithm starting from version v6.16.0. More information can be found here.

If you have or are thinking of upgrading to the new Ledger Nano S Plus hardware wallet, please be aware that some users have reported issues using the device, and that support for Monero will be added in the next CLI/GUI wallet release.

Martha Bueno, Candidate for Commissioner Miami-Dade District 10, recently tweeted that Monero is a better choice for those who require financial privacy.
European Union lawmakers recently voted in favor of controversial measures to outlaw anonymous cryptocurrency transactions, requiring KYC for even small peer to peer crypto transactions from unhosted wallets. At the moment this is still draft legislation. More information can be found here. Patrick Hansen has done a good job of covering this issue.
Belgium’s federal tax authority mentions Monero on their website, and even includes a link to GetMonero.org!
US Congressman Tom Emmer recently voiced his support of private cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin’s long term security as miners’ rewards are reduced came under the cryptotwitter spotlight, with Hasu, a research collaborator at Paradigm, claiming Bitcoin to be facing headwinds in the long-term. Thankfully, Monero doesn’t face this issue as it has an ongoing tail-emission to incentivize and reward miners securing the blockchain.
The world’s largest darknet market, Hydra, was recently shutdown by law enforcement, and $25 million dollars in Bitcoin was confiscated. One must ponder whether this is the last time a DNM will use BTC as a currency. Andy Greenberg from Wired pointed out that Hydra was not just a marketplace for illicit goods, but also used for laundering dirty money. Events
The Monerotopia event is taking place in Miami today, April 7th, and they have an amazing lineup of speakers and even Crytp0 Bear is putting on a concert. Philip Zimmermann, creator of PGP, will also be doing a Q&A session at MoneroTopia! For those unable to attend in person, Doug from Monero Talk also announced they have teamed up with The Crypto Vigilante group to offer virtual tickets, allowing you to access a live stream of the conference. You can still head over to the Monerotopia website and grab a ticket to one of the hottest Monero conferences around!
Guns N’ Bitcoin’s Freedom Tech Trade Show and Conference is taking place in Miami from the 9th-10th of April. This year they’re adding the topic of Monero, and the conference will feature talks from members of the Monero community. More information can be found here.
The next MoneroKon 2022 Planning Meeting is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 9th 2022 at 17:00 UTC in the #monero-events IRC channel. Additionally, check out the MoneroKon 2022 website for more information on the upcoming Monerokon conference to be held 18-19th of June at Arroz Studios in Lisbon, Portugal. Monerokon are also accepting presentation and workshop proposals if you want to get involved. MoneroKon is going to be a celebration of all things Monero, privacy, and financial technology, and is aiming to be THE annual meeting of privacy advocates, cypherpunks, scientists, and philosophers.

Chris, the owner of Helicon Brewing just outside Pittsburgh PA, now accepts XMR at his brewery after creating his own payment system. Helicon Brewing are big supporters of Monero, and unlike other cryptocurrency they receive which is sold for fiat, any XMR they receive in payment is stored in their hardware wallet on a boat. Community Crowdfunding
Dangerous Freedom’s CCS proposal to create python tools and educational material for checking inflation in Monero has almost been funded. This could potentially result in some great educational materials to help others understand how Monero works. Donate here.
Several crowdfunding proposals are awaiting community feedback before they can start accepting funds through the Community Crowdfunding System (CCS). For now they are just proposals, but if they receive some positive feedback from the community they will be moved to a “Funding Required” stage so that they can accept Monero donations through the CCS.
